City of Hawaiian Gardens
Bus Shelter Replacement Program
Infrastructure Engineers assisted the City of Hawaiian Gardens with finalizing plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) for constructing six new bus shelters and upgrading nine existing bus shelters along Carson Street, Norwalk Boulevard, and Civic Center Drive. The project included the design, purchase, and installation of shelters along with benches, trash cans, and solar-powered lighting. The existing nine shelters were painted, the existing benches were removed and replaced, and new solar-powered lighting was installed. Infrastructure Engineers worked with the Federal Transportation Administration, which provided primary project funding, along with Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority Transportation Development Act and City funds.
Infrastructure Engineers completed the PS&E, assisted in the bid process, and performed all construction administration and inspection and provided federal-fund administration necessary to successfully complete the project to the satisfaction of the funding agencies and the City.
